I’ll post pics when I get it out fully. I’m having to take it out with the transfer case still attached and it likes maybe half an inch from clearing the tip of the input shaft plus it’s been raining on and off and I’ve been working on it in my yard so it’s getting muddy
I’m assuming it’s good due the fact that when I was shaking it it wasn’t moving very much and when I tried to jack it up to see if it was separated it started picking the truck up also. It could still be bad I’m gonna replace it as well but I’ve already go so far as to remove my transmission...
Yes but WAY louder. Trans mount is good though it’s not coming apart like that though. Doesn’t really matter now because of the situation with my transmission and transfer case stuck together so I gotta get that sorted out before I go any further. I appreciate you showing me that too
Appreciate the advice, I’ll probably just go ahead replace the flywheel cause the one I’m looking at is about $70 and I have to remove it anyways to do my rear main. It don’t really bother me to spend the money on it I plan on keeping it the rest of my life
Yeah I’m worried about it being too heavy cause I love how this clutch feels right now it’s light enough to be able to work for hours but heavy enough to really get a good feel for it. Any sort of OEM+ brand you might recommend?
Well after 2 hours of trying to remove the transfer case I can definitely say I have other issues along with the noise. It’s acting like the two shafts are welded together I can spin the transfer case around the transmission but no amount of pulling, twisting, or banging is making it move. I...
It’s not really a minor issue though it’s extremely loud and makes my truck jerk when it does it. Also I don’t want something to happen and it break while I’m out driving somewhere. Been there done that absolutely hated it
None at all just the clunking when releasing the throttle like I’m going to coast or when I go to reverse. I had a slight vibration around 50 but that was because I put my driveshaft in the wrong way I flipped it and it went away.
My friend was under my truck while I was getting it to make the noise and he said it sounds likes coming from where the transmission and transfer case mate together and when it makes the noise I can hear it almost directly beneath me. I don’t believe it’s suspension because all my bushings...
So you’re not convinced that the splines could have some play in them due to being worn down and is what causing the sound? I’m all for anything that prevents me from rebuilding my trans.
I started removing the transfer case last night and I just want to get confirmation on something before I go through the entire process for naught. If it turns out it is my transmission output shaft clunking against my transfer case input shaft that if I replace my transmission main shaft it...
I am familiar Ive done some looking into it and tried the remedies to no avail. The reason I’m suspecting my transmission is because the splines on my main shaft were fairly worn out and I have a rebuilt transfer case with all new internals so I’m assuming it’s got the same issue just instead of...
