    1993 Silverado Idle/RPM Issues

I made a youtube video to basically display my problem since I have a hard time explaining it. I have recently replaced the: Battery, Spark Plugs, Wires, Distributor Cap and Rotor, Coil. It is TBI fueled. SBC 350, pretty stock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0xz...ature=youtu.be

Help fixing previous owners swap crap.

I bought a 1987 Pontiac Firebird Formula that someone "swapped" a 350 into, but it doesn't run very well at all. The vehicle is currently running a quadrajet carburetor and has an HEI coil on cap mechanical and vacuum dizzy. It has some shorty headers with plugged AIR tubes, and a street...

I made an album of replacing the heads on my truck

I freaking LOVE your build thread! I've always wanted a 454. Did the previous owner swap it in? I need one in my life lol 350's are very versitile but there is NO replacement for displacement.

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

Fixed my problem guys. Rotor button was unusable from it turning without being seated. Tore the plastic underside up. Went and bought another one, she fired right up. Runs great now. Thank you all for the help!

NEW UPDATE!!! so, somehow ive managed to top my previous dumb move. I never pushed the rotor button all the way down, which is why ive repeatedly gotten false readings when I removed the cap. But to my defense, the metal that the rotor slides down onto is pretty ruff/rusty and pushing it fully...

WOW, okay, my mind is blown. I did NOT know that a dizzy cap had a certain spot for number 1!!!!!! I have rewired the cap a million times according to the rotors pointing direction. Never thought to check the cap for numbers. It is an ACCEL 8132 Cap and Rotor kit. I will check! Is there another...

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

Lol the triple threat. I tried cranking it again and it started and ran for about 5-7 seconds this time before stalling and not starting. But my battery has worn down from 10hrs of cranking so progress has ended for the night. What would cause the ICM to fail when it was working fine before? I...

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

Tried that earlier today, no different. UPDATE!!!! So I checked the rotor again, this time taking the rotor off to inspect. I feel soooo dumb. SOMEHOW, I installed the rotor 180 degrees wrong. So I corrected my horrible mistake and switched the wires around yet again. My friend got back in...

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

Just went and checked the plugs on the coil. They are on the coil properly and are snapped in as is the coil to cap wire. This really blows.

I had it backwards. I have it clockwise. I had originally rewired it counter clockwise via google image. The I checked a different image and corrected myself.

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

I have tried even running the wires across the engine itself to make sure it's going where its supposed to. I have tried the firing order clockwise and counterclock wise (because the first "gm 350 firing order" I googled was in the clockwise format with the arrow going clockwise).

If you are talking about the 2 connectors on the coil, I thought so too but the way it was shaped, I didnt think it could go on wrong. Will recheck though.

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

When originally changing the cap, I pulled and placed wires one by one. And when redoing timing over and over, I disconnect all wires from cap, trace each wire to its location, and snap them on one by one in the counterclock wise setup.

Tune up gone wrong, PLEASE HELP ASAP

I have a 1993 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado with a 5.7L. I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, spark plugs, and spark plug wires today, and now it cranks over but will not start for anything and backfires out of the TBI. I reconnected all that I disconnected, I'm sure of (not that...
