    Owned a 327 SS in 1974 and sold it only to regret the sale. Better do it now, than to regret it later. Not many left. Other regrets 1956 Ford PU, 1969 Ford Torino GT, 1974 Kawasaki Mach III.

    Motor Trend Engine Masters did some testing on a small block Hooker cast iron headers. The performance was good while noise and maintenance was reduced. You might investigate the correct product for your 88.

    These engines never have moved much air. Not making 200 hp. If you take the air cleaner off and listen, you will find the heads are the choke point.

    Brakes for towing

    Something overlooked often. If front brake lines are original change them out. They will give problems, soft pedal and calipers that won't lift off the rotors at the most inopportune moment. Hydro boost will make symptoms apparent early.

    Be very careful depending on infrared temp guns. The guns operate on reflectivity. If a surface is not flat black temps can be way off.

    You can get a cam that produces insufficient vacuum to run an auto tranny.
