    Oil temps in a BBC measured at the #2 #3 & #4 Main bearing shells with lab grade thermocouple run to upperwards of 400 deg F under hi tow loads. Conv oil breaks down at that temp a Synthetic will last. I will gladly post up some pics. Just Dumped the SPR 54MM TBI for the Holley Terminator setup.

    If you are going to run a Big Block and a built tranny. Get the heat out of the radiator and put the biggest cooler you can fit. It will serve you the longest.     Yea I built a truck smart ass! OE ran 200-210* as that’s all an integrated radiator cooler can manage on a Big Block! Putting heat in a radiator. Heavy towing now runs 160-170* I love you opinions but do you actually have or have ever built anything? Sounds like you got some learning left to do!

    Putting tranny heat into the radiator is silly as the OE cooler is integrated. Also towing 15-20K with that cooler is silly. When I drop 4K into a Stage 3 Billet 4L80E it gets a cooler bigger the better. That’s heat dissipation.

    I replaced my K2500 7.4 fan with the Flex-A-LITE kit. I tow Both a 23’ Boat and 14’ Dump trailer. Keeps it nice and cool. I would recommend a external transmission cooler to get the heat out of the radiator.

    Is it the Step Bore 40/28.6mm or the straight 31.75mm ? I am doing the same conversation and wondering if I should go to the NBS 34mm Disk/Disk Master. How is your pedal feel? Thanks
