    Sorry been so long to give a update. I got the bafx adapter and was able to read Cmp retard. Ended up buying a new distributor and installed it. Made sure I set tdc on compression stroke. Needless to say I still can't get it right. Closest I've been able to get was +6. I'm starting to think that...

    Yes I knew that and that's what I did. I have come to the conclusion that it's the dongles/adapters are the problem. I seen where others have used the bafx adapter and have great success. I'm going to try one of those I'll keep you updated when it comes in and let you know if that works

    I have the 98 c2500 and tried the dashcommand I have the pid for Cmp but for some reason it doesn't seem to work. I know you got to raise the rpms above 1200 to get a new reading. No matter which way I adjust distributor I get the same reading. I adjust raise rpms above 1200 and still same reading

    Yes it is and I know that you raise the rpms above 1100 to get the Cmp retard to show new reading

I have purchased a couple of cheap elm327 and car gauge pro app and dashcommand with the GM pids but couldn't get the scanner to read the data. It would show -16.1 no matter...

    Does anyone know of a scan tool that will read Cmp retard. I bought several Bluetooth scanner and the car gauge pro app and dashcommand and can't get them to read. Is there a scanner out there that is not to expensive that will work for me
