wait... you meaning saving gmt400 parts isn't considered 'normal'??
i've got multiple grills and probably 10 boxes of parts from the wreckers in my crawl space... i thought that's just what 'normal' people do! ha!
years ago my wife added remote locks to my '89 truck for either my birthday or anniversary.
after doing some google searches i found this: black widow
i have no clue what they added to my truck to make everything work, but this is definitely the remote that i have for my truck
hopefully that...
not cheap!
all prices in USD...
my current cluster: $775
VHX cluster: $925
HDX cluster: $1545
**you also need to get a few other parts...
BIM-01-2 - OBD II / CAN Interface Module $124.95
DIM-1 - Light Dimming Kit $36.95
GSS-3000 - Universal Gear Shift Indicator Sending Unit $134.95
it's not that you couldn't use the cluster... but even with the 180kph cluster i'd be sad knowing at best i'd only ever get to see the needle hit 2/3 of it's potential! ha! ha!
don't get me wrong - back in the day i did all sorts of fun stuff (like finding out my dad's car limiter was around...
that's a sweet looking cluster!!!
i'm trying to think of where it would be legal to go above 120kph in canada?
the one highway that goes from where i live to the west coast i think is 120kph max at parts (but it might have been put back to 110kph)
i thought maybe some of the huge highways in...
i stumbled across this and all i could say is WOW!!!!
as for how many ponies it would make, i guess it would only be fair to use these for comparison....
is this what you are looking for??
i have a dakota digital one in my truck...
**edit - my truck is a 1989 k1500
for S-15 it looks like dakota digital has:
Dakota Digital Series III
Dakota Digital VHX
they have the same type of displays for ck/1500...
1988- 91 Chevy/ GMC Pickup Digital...
those look great Grube!
i picked up those exact lights sometime last year (i think it was late summer/early fall) - i'm hoping to have time to do the install in the next month (there's a few things i'm doing at the same time, so i need more time than a "headlight swap"
when i do mine i'm going...
you guys are approaching this totally wrong.
what you need to do is get some vinyl decals on the sides/front/back of the truck that simply reads...
"i identify as a cyclist"
this will let everyone know that red lights and stop signs don't apply to you
at least that's what it's like where i live!
definitely try direct to battery. if they are still too dim then there is likely something wrong with them
i have the exact same lights and mine seem fine to me...
i used vinyl plank in my embroidery shop - did it back in 2019. after 3 years the floor still looks awesome.
for guys considering using vinyl, the nice thing is it has a 'texture' and that would give a bit of 'grip' so stuff won't slide around much at all
i pulled all my interior plastic out and repainted it a number of years ago (i was sick of the 15 different shades of grey) - it's still holding up very well
this is from my build thread: 89 interior repaint
