Id say best to do axel and pinion bearings and seals if you are doing a gear swap. If you haven't had it posi-ed yet that might be something to look at. Rear from K1500 in C1500 axle questions
Im not sure about all the internals but i know that 4x4 rears are slightly wider than the 2wd rear and is not a direct swap. If you want a beefier rear people will tell you to look for a C2500 "light duty" rear from i think its like 89 to 93. Imo they are not as easy to find as some like to...- 97c1500ext

Steering feels light after gear box replacement
Since OP stated they replaced the pump they should be made aware there are two pumps to match the two gearboxes and mix and matching may be the issue. I have heard of people getting slightly heavier steering by pairing the 96 and older pump with the newer gearbox so I assume the reverse is also...- 97c1500ext

Adjusted the drums as far as i could then Ran through the full bleed process, mc then wheels in the pattern and theyre nice and tight now. As tight as brakes get on this truck anyway. Thanks for the help everyone- 97c1500ext

The main line from the front to the rear was replaced. I do not think there is a leak, there is no puddles or wetness anywhere. Would you be able to provide a part number for the braided lines? im having trouble finding them.- 97c1500ext

Ok my process for the next attempt is going to be, bleed the MC, bleed the combo valve, bleed the wheels. I will also triple check that the shoes are tight before i do this. I will have to buy a scanner which i have seen in previous posts must be a 2010 software or later to have the right option...- 97c1500ext

I didnt have a complaint beyond the recently developed stuttering, i dont carry any weight so it stopped just fine and the pedal wasnt what ive seen some people complain about. The stuttering wasnt consistently all the time so that is one reason i thought there might be something else failing...- 97c1500ext

I bench bled the mc, installed then pressure bled from rr rl fr fl furtherest to closest, bled the combo, then re-bled each wheel in the same pattern. Never got much air from anything- 97c1500ext
