    4l60e TQ and HP Question

Id say best to do axel and pinion bearings and seals if you are doing a gear swap. If you haven't had it posi-ed yet that might be something to look at. Eaton-trutrac is the go to ive seen many speak well of and i myself had one installed not long ago. You will need new inner axel bearings of a...

Rear from K1500 in C1500 axle questions

Im not sure about all the internals but i know that 4x4 rears are slightly wider than the 2wd rear and is not a direct swap. If you want a beefier rear people will tell you to look for a C2500 "light duty" rear from i think its like 89 to 93. Imo they are not as easy to find as some like to...

    Windshield leak

That's the idea i got after the first time but i didn't want to pay again and i think he would do the third one free as well. The guy who did the cleaning and painting after the second was the same guy who painted the entire truck which i was mostly happy with for the price i paid. These...

    Windshield leak

A few months back my windshield developed a severe leak and was popping away from the frame. You could actually see light between the body and the glass. Had it replaced, noticed they didnt properly clean the rust that these trucks are known for getting under the glass when they are replaced and...

Steering feels light after gear box replacement

Since OP stated they replaced the pump they should be made aware there are two pumps to match the two gearboxes and mix and matching may be the issue. I have heard of people getting slightly heavier steering by pairing the 96 and older pump with the newer gearbox so I assume the reverse is also...

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

The main line from the front to the rear was replaced. I do not think there is a leak, there is no puddles or wetness anywhere. Would you be able to provide a part number for the braided lines? im having trouble finding them.

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

I dont believe it was in the pedal but it has been a week now that i cant drive it so its hard to remember as it didnt happen many times. There was a very noticable feeling in the steering wheel, pulling with moderate force left to right rapidly. It was becoming difficult to get the drum on...

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

Ok my process for the next attempt is going to be, bleed the MC, bleed the combo valve, bleed the wheels. I will also triple check that the shoes are tight before i do this. I will have to buy a scanner which i have seen in previous posts must be a 2010 software or later to have the right option...

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

I didnt have a complaint beyond the recently developed stuttering, i dont carry any weight so it stopped just fine and the pedal wasnt what ive seen some people complain about. The stuttering wasnt consistently all the time so that is one reason i thought there might be something else failing...

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

I bench bled the mc, installed then pressure bled from rr rl fr fl furtherest to closest, bled the combo, then re-bled each wheel in the same pattern. Never got much air from anything

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

The last thing i did before giving up for the night was attempting to pressure bleed in the rr rl fr fl pattern furthest to closest.

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

Not sure of the code but they are the dreaded 10in drums in the rear and disc in front. Being a 97 i also have the 4 wheel ABS.

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

The original problem was i was going to do pads and shoes because i was getting some vibration in the steering when braking under certain conditions and was started to hear a bang occasionally when letting off the brake. I was fairly convinced it was time for new pads and shoes anyway.

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

I bled the combination valve with a screwdriver on that button and someone working the pedal. Only got strong fluid spray with little or no air

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

The MC was the only option from Rockauto for my make model and year that was ACdelco and looks identical to the previous MC. I may not have perfectly bled the MC since i dont have the kit with lines running back to the reservoir and it was squirting pretty strongly from the forward fitting and...

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

As stated in my original post, I bench bled the new MC before install and yes it is the correct part its identical to the old one and the only ACdelco option that comes up on Rockauto for my make model and year.

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

To clarify, pedal was going to the floor before new MC, I bench bled the new MC before install and when bleeding my truck is on downward angle with the front lower than the rear plus it was on jacks in the rear only do i do not believe there is air trapped in the MC. Could this be an issue with...

Brake pedal goes to the floor after new shoes

97 C1500 After recently changing the drum shoes in the rear several issues are occuring. First thing, yes i believe they are adjusted correctly. I can barely pull the drums off due to how tight the pads are pressing against them. The pedal when the truck is off is squishy for the first press...
