I’m putting my 1996 C1500 back together after spending the last couple years rebuilding it. I can’t get the tail lights nor flashers to work. The headlights and front running lights work fine but no flash.

I’ve swapped in a carbed 454/TH400.

Here’s what I’ve done. Bed came off and back-halved the frame. I am using the factory rear harness and tail lights, neither were damaged during the work. I’ve swapped the head lights and front parking lights with LEDs. I’ve also done an ABS delete.

Any help would be appreciated.

Start with the ground wire. Is it reattached to the new rear frame?
The LEDS will hyperflash without a load module or a time-based flasher. Did you install either?
The one at the gas tank is. Should there be another one from the bed to the frame?

Neither for the LEDs. I figured I’d get them if I got the hyper flash.

You guys nailed it! The one wire was the ground for back there.

Thank you all!
I had that happen on my trailer connector adapter. Some are grounded internally and some are not. I had the plug hooked up, but not the separate ground wire....so of course when I went to rent a trailer, none of the lights worked on the trailer. And I have had before where I had to get the third trailer before everything worked right. That little white wire with the ring terminal on it, makes a big difference.
