Sounds to me like you may have a similar issue to the one I had with that Optima yellow top years ago... Some kind of internal failure at one of the side posts.
Talking with my usual parts guy at NAPA he said he wasn't surprised the side posts failed; most times due to the way a side-post battery is made the failure point is 95% of the time related to the posts them selves being damaged somehow, he explained it in a more detailed way that I could ever hope to explain though.

I've never had a bottom barrel Walmart battery do me like that.
I've had plenty of cheap batteries fail on me, which is why I'm thoroughly confused how I managed to kill a "top shelf" component!

I'm convinced most crap is equally crap. Pay for the warranty and the customer service, not the name.

Still waiting to hear back on a warranty from Odyssey. Slow going but hopefully they'll honor it, we'll see though.

Took the topper off so I can strip it and try to get the glass clean, I need to get a hold of my paint guy to see when I can drop this thing off. Also gave the truck it's first wash in a while, it's just been too damn hot and with afternoon thunderstorms it's a losing battle trying to keep the truck clean. But I'll give it a good wash sooner or later, it needs a good detailing. Sprayed out the bed really good, I hate having all the big trees around my property because of all the sticks and leaves that wind up covering the vehicles, but at least it's shaded.

Still haven't heard back from Odyssey, I may re-submit a warranty form and call them directly. I have been looking at AGM replacement though, for both the red truck and the crew cab. I'm eyeing NAPA Legend AGMs, which I believe are rebadged Deka? Not sure, I really like the Odyssey, but it hurts to spend almost $300+

Threw the crossover box back in, I missed having storage! I really need to finish up the 5th wheel rail install as well. Slow progress is still progress.

I finally got these damn things put together!
No pics, but I scored a set of decent factory flares for the front, I kind of tore them up a little removing them but it's nothing a little plastic welding can't fix. Hoping to get those fixed up, painted, and on the truck by next weekend. I can't stand the crappy Chinesieum flares on the front anymore, I'll be on the lookout for a back set next time I go to a pull a part as well.

That's a good idea, get some plainos to paint up. I personally would love to score a set of clean white flares for the front of my dually but the 2500/3500 trucks are fairly rare at the pull and pay. Looks like you bothered to clean up your brackets, lights look clean. How many times did you try to put a light in upside down or in the wrong hole? The first one for me good, took 3 tried to check every box and get it right.

I didn't have much trouble with the lights going on weird; I just made sure I was hyper-aware of how the plug was sitting, trying to put the metal bezels back over was the most challenging part

Yeah, you keep the light housing shoved into the bezel the whole time. I'm pumped about the quad beams, I used to have an 88 with them but that was with lame stock housings.

Looks like your fancy headlights are going to have a large gap on mine.
Cracked the high beam housing. Guess I'll need to order a new one. Back on the shelf these go, at least for another week or so.
