Picture pretty much tells the story. Was driving then all the sudden the truck straight piped itself. Any ideas to fix, other than welding?

The tube in front of the cat is pretty deteriorated so I'm not sure you could even weld it without blowing holes in it.

Sometimes ya just need new stuff.

Get the Jeg's offroad intermediate pipe. Bolts on to stock manifolds and muffler flange. Might have to put anti-fowlers in O2s, mine goes off now n then. Haven't put em in yet lol

Trying to avoid buying a new cat. What would go wrong if I just deleted the whole thing?

Not an expert but 3 things

One the sel will turn on and may run crappy
Two need a tune
Three won't pass emissions if your required

Yes the check engine light will be on, and it won't run crappy. Mine ran better, mainly because of crappy fix on the old piece.

Two need a tune

Don't need to tune it. But, tuning it will turn the rear O2s off.

I live in the same state, i have 2 vehicles same design, both passed inspection. Maybe if the station is a stickler they might fail it. But these trucks are over 20 years old now, most don't give a ****.

Both my 96 Yukon n 98 Tahoe have the jegs pipe. All 4 O2 sensors in place. The Yukon has never had the light come on. I'm thinking this one has been tuned or something. The 98 hasn't been touched. The light will come on, but it still passed inspection, plugging it in. Ur allowed to have 2 monitors ready, can't remember but light can't be on. I cleared mine in the morning, drove to work, got it inspected after work, driving it a whole 10 miles I think.

This is going to sound wild, but hear me out. Right now I have that car held in with a steel can cut in half and expanded to fit inside both pipes covered in exhaust paste and wrapped in aluminum tape. What if I replace the cat with a piece of pipe, then put the oxygen sensor in right next to the other one, behind the cat? So id have 1 cat with both oxygen sensors behind it, and 1 cat deleted with no oxygen sensor. Crazy, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Thoughts?
