I wouldn't go less then 2.5" personally. Like mentioned, it will create a bottle neck and will add unwanted turbulence in the exhaust flow.

I have 2.25 inlet pipes and 2.5 outlet pipes now. So should I get the glasspack with a 2.25 inlet and outlet or the 2.5? I'm gonna clamp these on.

Personally I would start with at least 2.5" off the y pipe and keep it that size to the tail pipe

I don't have a Y pipe. I'm getting true duals so should I buy the 2.5 glasspacks and have the shop weld on an adaptor at the end of the inlets and then clamp it on? What's the advantage of 2.5 and not the inlet size if 2.25?

I had a pair of them on my chevelle... they were LOUD, dude... and zero back pressure...
hauling ass next to the concrete wall on the interstate sounded like a P40 spitfighter and downshifting sounded like anti-aircraft machine guns....

that being said, I would not recommend them... especially on a heavy truck that requires back pressure to break its inertia, especially when towing/hauling stuff. get an aggressive muffler instead.
retain some back pressure

i was told a little back pressure can help you take off, if, you have a manual transmission (which i do)

i am in the market for a new muffler, myself

Yeah I'm just wanting something louder and throatier. I have decided on the 23 inch thrush glasspacks with a 2.5 inch openings.

But it is very noticeably loud when you accelerate? I mean I want this to be pretty loud. And yeah I plan on keeping my hi flow cats.
