Looking at my options to replace my tailgate (Fleetside), I know it’s best to fine oem from junkyard but I saw LMC has a reman… anyone ever bought it? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think you asked a valid question. I'm in a similar situation. My original tailgate is beat up and rotted. The previous owner happened to have a new, aftermarket tailgate that he included with the truck. But, I don't know if I will use it, because I imagine it would be a pain in the butt to swap over all the hardware (handle, latches, hinges, rods, etc). Has anyone on the forum ever swapped over a bare tailgate?It’s always good just confirming your own thoughts with people that have already done what I’m looking to do! Thank you everyone
Even in the South it's getting hard to find good tailgates. When I was at the yard recently, every truck that still had one, it was bent or jammed shut. I'd like to put a proper gate on my crew cab, but haven't found a good one when I had $$. Missed one the right color, a few months ago, cause it was the wrong side of the paycheck....I think you asked a valid question. I'm in a similar situation. I'm sure it's easier to swap a good, used tailgate, since the hardware is already in/on it, but I live in the Northeast, a/k/a Rust Belt. Plus, due to the age of these trucks, they are getting scarce in the salvage yard (but you never know, about a year ago, I scored two good fenders, although they were aftermarket - still fairly new and in good shape, though).
There is a company in nearby Connecticut that 'imports' truck parts from down South or out West, selling rust-free parts, so that may be an option for me. I just hate to waste a free, new tailgate, but will if it makes more sense to get a primo used one. May be more money, but save a lot of time, and right now, time is more scarce than money for me.
