i want the 4" for mine...
but im concerned about suspension geometry strains... might just get a 2" body lift to go with my 2" suspension lift and call it a day...

The 4" drops the entire suspension an is actually decranked from stock settings. There is no extra strain on it an I have better angles than stock. A 2" crank will be a worse strain on everything than a 4" kit.

so it drops the transfer case and the front diff?... that sounds kind of counterintuitive. looking at those components on my truck, if I dropped them lower I would need to remove, or significantly lower the skid plates. and having those is super important.
I need to find a thread with better pictures to illustrate this

It drops the front diff yes but not the transfer case. It comes with new skid plates. You can check my build thread or download the instructions for a kit from the rough country web site

For consideration: the stock truck comes with a steering stabilizer on the 2500.

It has to do with the crappy parallelogram style steering on all the GMT400 chassis.....

The suspension will be much more strained with a 2 inch crank than a 4 inch lift

well... then maybe i'll just buy the 3" lift front diff. lowering bracket and be done.
right now it seems happy, but I don't want to do all the work of a 4" kit

That kit is only marginally better than cranking. It does nothing for your ball joint or tie rod angles. You will be happier with the 4" kit which van easily go to 6" when you get the itch to go higher.
