I just ordered the parts needed to rebuild the steering system on my 98 2door Tahoe 4x4. I bought all Moog parts through Rock Auto. Came out to $500.88. I ordered the following parts

MOOGK6335 Pitman Arm $30.79
MOOGK6722 Idler Arm Bracket Assembly $29.99
MOOGES2838RL Tie Rod End $18.60 2@$37.20
MOOGK6477 Lower Ball Joint $28.79 2@ 57.58
MOOGK6292 Upper Ball Joint $23.79 2@$ 47.58
MOOGK6447 Idler Arm $43.79
MOOGES2836RL Tie Rod End $26.79 2@$ 53.58
MOOGES2004S Tie Rod End Adjusting Sleeve $8.19 2@ $16.38
MOOGDS1407 Center Link $33.89
MOOGK80631 Stabilizer Bar Link $11.66 2@ $23.32
MOOGK6329 Control Arm Bushing $17.29 2@ $34.58
MOOGK6395 Control Arm Bushing $13.61 2@ $27.22
MOOGK6302 Caster / Camber Cam Bolt Kit $16.68 2@ $33.36

Like I said, Total was $500 including the shipping.
I was torn on just buying complete Raybestos upper Control Arms to make the job go faster but the cost was an extra $140. I'll just pay the labor to have the bushings pressed out and the upper ball joint replaced. The ball joints on my truck are bolted in so it wont be too bad to remove them

Am I missing anything on the list of parts to change? I was going to replace the steering box but decided against it. I do not wheel my truck at all. It does have 33s on it with a crank though. I will be having this job done at the shop as I do not have a press to properly to the lower ball joints and the bushings. I also have a bad back and doing this job in the driveway will put me in a coffin.

I will try to post progress pics as the job gets done.

You shouldn't have needed the cam/caster bolt kit a 98 should already have it. Other than that it looks good to me...

I bought them in case the OEM ones were rusted and/or worn out. I live in New England and the winters here do a tune on the vehicles. I'd rather just replace them anyway.

I will be installing new struts too but I'm waiting on word from Bilstien if they offer anything slightly longer then stock considering I have the front cranked up a couple inches.

Any suggestions guys on steering box replacements? I'm not even sure if my steering box is bad but after 130k miles, I'm sure it's seen better days. Truck is a 98 Tahoe Sport 4x4

both my 2wd and 4wd steering boxes have over 200k miles and are still tight and smooth. Personally, I'd wait till it went bad since its not so bad to change. Otherwise, I've yet to see any reman box that wasnt done well. A-1 Cardone is a good company for rebuilt parts.

Is there a place out there that carries new bolts and hardware for the control arms? I'd like to replace all the bolts that go through the bushings on the control arms

Just replace with grade 8 stuff of the same size. Mimic what is already there. Find a local fastener supplier like Fastenal. But to be honest, those bolts shouldn't be bad unless severely corroded. I live n the south so that's not an issue for me.

I live up in New England. I can't go to the hardware store for bolts when the truck is taken apart.
