I'm soon to be replacing my 96 K1500 with a 94 K1500 that's in much better shape, but I want to keep as much of the functionality and familiarity of my 96 as possible so I had planned on transferring the entire interior to the 94 once I have it. This is mostly because I prefer the look of the newer dash, the 60/40 split seats over the solid bench, and want to keep features such as remote entry among others. I had also planned on swapping the 305 in my 96 with the 350 in the 94 because it's a bit newer and feels a lot more snappy than the 350 (planned on moving the tranny -4L60e- over with the 305).
My questions are pretty simple;
- Is it possible to keep most/all of the features from my 96 (which is rusted to he*l and back) specifically remote unlock
- Will the 305 and tranny direct fit into the 94 body or will I need to modify some things
- Is the older manual transfer case of the 94 plug-and-play compatible if at all with the newer 305 and tranny (which had an electronic transfer case)
Please let me know of anything else I should consider, know about or be concerned about moving forward. I'll be buying the 94 in about 6 to 8 weeks so I want to know if this is possible within practicality
