Newer 01-06 2500 mirrors on a 97 400

I've seen a lot on here about a specific kind of tow mirrors being put on gmt 400's .. I'd like some off of a 2001-2006 2500-3500 trucks.. Here is a link to what I want.. How hard would I be to put these on.. Is it as simple as redoing the holes? I've also noticed that some people mod a dodge tow mirror to wil on 400's..

Well I found out the hard way that they don't fit. my wife bought me these mirrors for An early anniversary present.they don't work

Wow - I wish someone would have caught this earlier! The mirrors you are looking at I have never seen with proper bases for a GMT400 truck. They do make the later 2-post towing mirrors with the GMT400 bases aftermarket, I was one of the first to install a set.

The dodge mirrors have a very close base shape and can be installed, however require some modifications to work.

Yea I see slot of those...I would have rather had the ones I found but I now know that they don't work..I will probably end up buying the new style

Yes I saw the write up for those dodge mirrors..they kinda neat...just not for me

I've seen that and the GMT800 bases done. They don't actually fit right. The vent visors are used to disguise that.
