not much of an update... but i did a quick little mod job on on the factory upper radiator hold down brackets to keep them from rubbing on the the radiator, and to make them look a little better by cutting off the fan shroud mounts

and i also picked up another needed part (obd 2 port) so i can be that much closer for having everything i need for the "LS"/vortec 5.3 swap

stupid bandwidth exceeded for the month... guess if anyone want to see pics before next month, they will have to just click on the pic/link. lol
Hosed these off and out... then did a quick spray job on them. They are a little rusty and beat up, but they are only temporary for now, until I get some new ones, and they were free, so that's ok. now I just need some angle iron to make the floor mounts from, so I can make a mount them in the back passenger side corner by the tailgate/quarter glass.

And the other one is in...

Working on a new battery tray (almost done) just need a few more brackets to bolt it to the core support... its gonna be a super tight fit, but it will work. May just leave it their permanently, and make a battery cover too.

And it fits... barely. Lol

All done... crammed in their and the hood closes without hitting the battery, which is a good thing too.

Some wiring stuff I ordered for the harness modifications... fuse blocks, relay connectors, new wire terminals for relays, relays, and a "check engine" light.

Up on jack stands, and buckets under the front wheels to support the weight of the wheels to keep from stretching the bags too much. Now just waiting for the day I can start the LS 5.3 swap.

And the hood is officially back off. Now I have more room to work. And it wont go back on until the swap is done.

also got the drive shaft removed, tq converter bolts undone, header collectors unbolted, trans linkage disconnected, last ground strap unhooked, trans lines unhooked from trans cooler and capped off so they wont leak, the trans cooler removed as well, so it can either be cleaned and relocated, or replaced. and also by removing the trans cooler from behind the grille, as well as the center brace that was behind the grille that it was attached too. which made a lot of room for a huge intercooler that will be needed in the future (and which i will gladly take if someone wants to donate it too the project). jk jk lol. :evillol:
