if I just wanted to go with a 2/4 or 3/4 lowering kit would I have to get different shocks or can I keep the stock shocks

On a k1500?
You can use the stocks all the way around just add some shock extenders to the rear. on that size drop. I just lowered my 4wd Tahoe 3-4, I am very pleased with it now.

No the k1500 I had I had to sell because of the police bugging me about speeding to much and some other stuff I just haven't gotten around to updating the stuff here yet now theres a look I want that I would prefer to do a C1500
