having backed up to the trailor with my gm styled ones on (havent dragged it yet) even fully retracted, these mirrors offer amazing view. Fully extended I dont think the standard mirror does as much as the dodge, but the convex is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much nicer. All in all with ease of install, I would say these are the way to go. I was going to install the dodge ones, but am very glad I went the same route as the OP. No drilling or cutting, just some minor wiring and your done.

Holy ****. I made a thread I believe on here, or maybe GMFS asking if this was possible. There was a stock truck that had done it but he used the actual GM mirrors so they didn't fit right. I want these really bad for my truck. I love them on the 800&1000's.

I just don't know if they would look right on mine. I'm lifted and tall but my tires aren't that wide. 35x12.50's on 17x8's...I just don't know :hmm:

Awesome job man, they definitely look killer on your truck.

Yall think these would look right on my truck?

They would look great on your truck. I agree about the tires though. Buy some two or three inch spacers from ebay and it would look perfect. My tires are 15.5 inches wide and i have the two inch spacers and i love how far they stick out but i think the dodge mirrors might look goofy on mine becuz its a single cab short bed.

No idea lol I just remember they're 17x8.

I don't know about those ebay spacers :hmm: I'd need to see some pics. It might look goofy because I think my track width is fine but I would need some x10's on 12.50 or 13.50's to get that wider look.

honestly, I have them on my stock stance and they suit it pretty decent. Lift will help, but in person they look pretty decent on stock. The pictures really dont do it much justice. They make them look like they stick out big time and its not a pronounced in person.

After multiple people asking how to wire the LEDs in as signal and parking lights, I FINALLY had enough time to draw a wiring diagram. If you can't figure it out from here, there isn't really much else I can do. You'll need 4 diodes for each mirror, and 12v+ from the parking lights and each respective signal 12V+

Basically, whichever circuit is de-energized acts as the ground circuit, if both are energized they have no ground and the light turns off. Both the parking and signal circuit have a floating ground when off, hence how the light can utilize this wiring to function. It's exactly how the front 194 marker light is wired.

I figured I'd update this, swapped the mirrors over to my "new" 99 silverado, got them wired up yesterday.

Few dusk shots of the cablights, mirror lights, and rear clearance light.
