Thank youcompletely missed that. Ill keep an eye out.
That would be a good idea, but unfortunately no trailer to bring the thing to my buddy's house. Good news is there is about 15 of them between 3 junkyards in my area so I'm not hurting yet. 300$ M350 TBI is getting picked up Friday, got the name for a local guy to rebuild trans for ~400$ and I'm trying to get all the hours from work as I can to pay for this as well hahaIn your situation a parts truck wreck with reported good engine/trans might be something to look for. Sounds like you are headed in the right direction.
Yea I'm was wanting to get it all done before graduation, but I don't know if I want to keep the motor out and modify it a bit while it's already out. Decisions decisions....If you can get the trans rebuilt for 4 bills you are doing really well. Be prepared to pick up a few steaks and beers for the guy who does it at that price. It appears that you will be rolling under your own power soon.
I would first want a stable, running truck I could depend on and make sure of that before mods . Your ambition may be different, but performance parts on a used engine can accelerate any pending failures by a hundredfold. It depends on how much a dependable daily driver is worth to you. Later on when more bucks come in a crate motor with mods might be the way to go. Since you have to save money just to get it running it likely would be prudent to hold off. I wouldn't want to either but it might be a better course.
