Well, Devin's 96 dually has 235s all the way around, ad you have 265s with spacers. we are trying to determine if a 255 would fit or rub too much....

FWIW i'm going to crank the front a bit and put a block in the rear.

Look how close the radial bulge is as the bottom with the 235's on Devin's. I had 1/4" gap with BFG commercial tires. 255's wouldn't have fit mine.

Oh I know I will need a spacer in the rear if i go over 235, I'm talking about the front clearances. I know lots of SRW guys run 285s. DRW trucks have almost identical track width if at the same torsion bar level. Stock they sat lower than a SRW truck thus a tad wider.

Hub centering rings, 2" lift blocks/ U-bolts, and Chrome GMC center caps ordered.....

I checked my t-bars last night, and they are just about on the lowest possible position - since the truck does need an alignment I figured now was the time to crank it up a bit and toss a block in the rear.

FYI about SRW 8 lug...
I run 285/70-17s on H2 wheels, no crank and minor trimming of front flares at the back of the fender. My truck has 4.10s and the change from 245/75-16s to these wasn't as bad as I thought. The speedo is closer to correct now. It was dead on with 265/70-17s on the H2 wheels.

I have a friend with the identical truck to mine but with a 454. He runs 285/75-16s in the summer, no crank and no trimming, on stock steel wheels. In the winter he runs a plow and cannot run the 285s. He runs studded 245s thru the winter.

EDIT - the photo in my sig is 265/70-17s. This is the 285s...
