I picked up a cluster with the tach. In order to switch the pins I need to pull the connector. I can't see any way short of cutting out some of the plastic to make that realistic. Is that what others have done?

I can see the release pins, but sliding it I quickly run out of travel and there isn't any room to push it out through the back.

I case others are wondering the answer is yes, you have to cut the back of the dash out. The alternative is basically a complete disassembly including drilling out rivets.
