315's on stock wheels...Safe or Not?...Opinions Please

Yeah, I usually do about 18-20 psi when i go on the beach, I'm not brave enough to go any lower then that.

on my stock Trailblazer SS with 20x8 rims and 255/50/20 tires I normally lower the pressure to 12psi to gain traction in sand dunes, never had a problem, I have seen plenty of people running 12psi on their stock 4x4.

But I wondered how low I could go on the stock 16x7 rims and 315/75/16 tires due to go on my 97' Tahoe.

The answer is 5-6 psi in the rear and 8-10 psi up front, have yet to pop a tire in the soft sand dunes or the arabian desert.
