I have a 1997 k1500 totally stock stock driveline. With 245/75/16 tires on it so it sits really low. I would really like it to sit up higher. I was thinking 265/75/16 tires followed by 3 inch blocks in the rear and a 1-3 inch adjustable torsion key that is cranked up to 3 inches. I don't mind having the back end a little higher than the front either. This truck stays on the road 95% of the time, the other little bit is just some old logging roads around town. I would like to keep my stock shocks because they were just replaced. I also don't mind a little worse ride quality. If I still don't like the height could I go with a 3 inch body lift for a little more? I'd really like to go with the other two things then reassess, am I on the right track??

No need to buy new keys. Just crank up your factory ones and thatll give you the 2-3" that you want up front. That with a 3" block would look good with some 285 tires. Just my .02

Ok, can I safely crank them up 3 inches with 265's? With 3 inch blocks in the rear? Btw all the tie rod ends and ball joints were replaced 10,000 miles ago and that was mostly highway

No you cant probably get 3 inches out of just cranking keys from what I can gather you would be much better off with a 3 inch BL

2nd that.. Cranking will mess up that new front end especially if you go full crank...body lift only makes your ride a little worse only down side....

Live action!!

4x4 will clear 285x75 stock height, don't crank your bars more than 1.75-2" and body lift doesn't change the ride quality at all, you can fit 35s with body lift

Ok I got my blocks today 3 inch. After getting them on (pita because I had to do it on the uneven driveway) I tightened up the torsion bolts quite a bit, maybe 5 threads from bottoming out the bolts and the front only came up maybe a inch or 1.5 inches. So I go all the way on the bolts? Also it seems to ride better now not worse bumps don't feel nearly as sharp. it's about 2 inches from the bump stop.

Sounds like you have some sagging bars then
