So even though I've got my hands full right now, I went and picked up my next project this weekend.. Travelled from Central IL to an hour south of Kansas City Kansas to pick this up..
A 99 K2500 CCSB 4wd chassis with 3:73 gears. Not in bad shape, but not rust free ether. Will have to clean it up and paint it to get rid of all the surface rust. Nothing is rotted out all can be cleaned up.

Ultimately this comes down to the fact that I don't need two CCLB 2wds, and want a 4x4 but don't want a 3rd truck.
I figure this 94 (even being rust free) with 374k miles is only worth a few grand at most. $3k if I'm really lucky. To buy a 3/4 ton 4wd i'll probably spend $1500-2500 and it will be far from rust free. So I figured its a better idea build a 4 wheel drive with all of the options I could ever want from the factory. (Mechanical 6.5 diesel, 88-94 style burgundy interior with buckets, crew cab, 4wd, short bed 1 ton, floor shift transfer case) Plan on using the full float 3:73 14 bolt and leafs from the original C3500 chassis.
Essentially if I were to think up a "dream truck" from GM, this would be it.
Now, I'll still have the Cummins CCLB for when I need the long bed. (I do use both trucks as trucks so I need to keep at least one long bed.)

Trip went smooth, 7 hour drive each way stayed the night Saturday and brought it back Sunday, truck actually ran great, rode very nice averaging about 16.5 mpg at 70mph. About 1000 miles between the two days.. Between driving home, dropping off my buddy and returning the trailer that thing ran practically all day non stop from 7am-8pm on Sunday.
