Off road lights behind the grille?

Sorry for going dark, I have yet to mount up some lights. Y'all's set ups look great! I'm thinking of some thin Hellas mounted flush with the grille on both sides of the GMC emblem, I have measured and I believe the cooler gets in the way so I will have to figure a way around that. Will keep you...

If I remember right the space between the tranny cooler and the grille is just under 2 inches. So it will be pushing it, and keep in mind I still have my stock grille w/emblem. If it's not possible, I would be interested in fabbing up the brackets to where they still mount to the bumper bolts...

Bumper bolts it is! I guess just PM me when you have the finished product and we'll figure out that payment etc. when the time comes. I'm just hoping the lights fit in that tight space! Thanks man I greatly appreciate all the help!

This may come off as a stupid question, but are the bumper bolts you are referring to located up behind the grille someplace? If so, I would much prefer for it to bolt up some place like that. Hopefully nothing too big and bulky.

:buffer: Yeah I guess so. Only thing that makes it difficult is that I don't have a plasma cutter or welder at home lol so I'm going to have to wait a few weeks for I put her under the knife

:think:Nothin' ever comes easy these days. Can't mount up a brushguard with my body lift without fabbing up some brackets and now this haha.

Ahhh I have the Z71 with the towing package so the tranny cooler gets in the way...I'd have to find a way around that.

Off road lights behind the grille?

Has anybody attempted(successfully) to mount off road lights behind the grille? I'm wanting to mount two thin Hellas behind the grille on each side of the gmc symbol on my '98 but ain't quite sure how to go about it. Heck there might not even be enough space maybe I'm just crazy! :Good or Bad...
