    Idea

If the truck is as special as you say it is, why turn it into a modded project? I would do a restoration on it. Big projects have a funny way of not being completed, or at least not as planned. Just some food for thought.

Need Help: Lift for 99 K3500 CCLB. Whats available. Getting run around from shops

You can do a coil/radius arm sas and keep it pretty low. No need to make the thing a monster truck.

Need Help: Lift for 99 K3500 CCLB. Whats available. Getting run around from shops

Soild axle swap that beast with a 78-79 Ford dana 60. Or if you want to have a nice ride find a 05+ ford super duty front end with all the front suspension, fab up some mounts and a track bar. You'd have a coil/radius arm dana 60, smooth ride, and strength.

    Comp/Temp Mirror and Homelink

On the mirrors the only stuff i have is the stuff listed. The comp temp mirror came from a 99 suburban 2500 and the comp mirror one came from a 97 i think. Shipping on the home link is about 7 bucks. PM me to discuss payment.

    Cclb to ccsb question

Is there a frame that is the correct length to begin with? I was thinking suburban but it looks like the wheel base may be a bit short. I was also thinking have you tried fixing the cracks correctly (drilling a hole at the end of the crack, then welding it) and then boxing that area of the...

How long did your 4L60E last?

I work them hard. I doubt it was bad rebuilds, only 2 of them came from the same place, and 2 of them were direct replacements from gm. Most of the failures were hard parts. Sun shells, planetary gear sets, couple of output shafts. I hate 4l60e transmissions, 4l80e ftw.

    Comp/Temp Mirror and Homelink

Ah, thank you. I wasn't sure because when I plugged it in to my truck to take the picture it flashed 100° then went to the compass display.

    Bumper Ideas?

I do like the tube and plate style for rears as well, but the shape of the lower section is not correct to me. Needs to be more flat across the bottom and with a spare tire carrier :D

    Bumper Ideas?

Ill be building this, but with out the holes for the lights, and with a winch mount. One of the cleanest tube/plate bumpers I've seen on a gmt400.

    Tires....

BFG at. Hands down best multipurpose tire in my book. Everything from deep snow (3-4 ft) rocks (rubicon) mud (wet dirt) can't beat them for an all around tire. But 80k on my last set.

    Cross drilled rotors

Cross drilled rotors always remind me of a cheese grater, and in my experience, work pretty similarly. But instead of making some good tacos, they make dust out of your pads.

    Kodiak front on pickup?

I meant dually front hubs with srw type back spaced wheels. Sorry I reread what I said and saw the confusion. But I don'tthink even that width would be wide enough, and the scrub radius would be terrible.

Repainting Corner Pieces on Tahoes, Yukons, and Suburbans

Krylon Fusion works good. I usually scuff with 600 grit sand paper first.

    Kodiak front on pickup?

This is what I was referring to. I think you would need a dually front suspension with normal back spaced wheels to make the width look correct.

    Kodiak front on pickup?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Kodiaks much wider? I don't see too many around here, and when I do they are GMT800/ express van style.

    Sas questions I couldn't find

I've been a member on pirate for about 11 years. And have seen these types of situations end up in some kind of catastrophic failure more times then I can remember. And to eg30.06, if your mom always says "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" she's part of the...

bumper, grille, and some trim finish

I know the color selection isn't great for off the shelf, but have you looked into plasti-dip for the plastic parts you are looking at refinishing? I've used it here and there on plastic parts and had pretty good luck, and it's also thick enough to hide imperfections, like small chips and divots.
