MAF is plugged in and clean. ICM was a Delphi that I replaced with an AC Delco. Plug wires are new (Duralast) as are the plugs (Delco), gapped .060"

That gap sounds way to big.... .032 to .045 has always been small block, pre 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, gap..

0.060" is right for Vortecs unless you bought plat or iridium which are smaller and you are not supposes to change them.
That Delphi unit should have been better than a Delco one but who the hell knows anymore.

.060 is what the sticker under the hood lists. And the Delco was the choice over a valiecraft as far as in-stock items.

had some problems with my 1996 chevy van-350 v8 vortec.i had changed the crab cap.and rotor button from autozone.had hard starting problem.you have to use a factory cap and rotor button.went to chevy dealer.bought the factory stuff..problem went away.next i had a deal with the fuel pump.it got weak.if the pressure is weak.it want let the fuel injectors work.got to have that pressure.i think it is like 60 or 70..psi..there is deals on the engine.senors or what ever if they are bad engine want crank.i think mind has that crank trigger out front.on the crank shaft.i read if that thing is even dirty.it want let the motor start up...and all so.check for ground straps.maybe engine to fire wall something like that.damn computer engines.can drive you crazy.

This afternoon I got the replacement distributor in and rough timed. When I cranked it over it sure sounded like it wanted to start right off but didn't. Got a new code though, 1351 icm voltage too high. Feed a little gas into the TB and she starts but I've got to keep feeding her. Sent the new ICM with a buddy to have it tested at AutoZone, we shall see...
