There is no computer hooked up, so it shouldn't be running even if its in there. I would imagine they removed that and are just running a pickup hose in place of the pump

A lot of if's and maybe's and probably's.

Take your disconnected fuel hose and stuff it into a Jerry can and put it in the bed of the truck and go for a rip. After, before or during pull the sending unit and make sure its sock or hose only, I hope you don't have a non-running tbi pump the mechanical one is trying to suck thru, but stranger things...

So I had it at work today for an oil change, and I noticed that the frame has actually been shortened, must have been from an extended cab at one time. Still no progress on the fuel issue.

So on my way home, I heard a funny noise coming from underneath, and the trans felt like it was slipping. I pulled over, and it seems like the pump is getting noisy. If I shut it off and let it sit, it shifts fine, but once hot it seems to be very noisy and not want to move. See, this is why I don't do automatics!!

I didn't want to turn this truck into a big project, but I might have to, now that I got the body looking pretty good, I don't think I'm going to want to give up on it. I might try and change the filter first to see if it does anything, but i'm not very hopeful . Its weird, last night it did shift funny on one of my test runs, but after stopping and doing some adjustments, it didn't do it again. I just went out and took it down the road, it shifted fine at first, but as I slowed down to turn around, the noise came back and trans started slipping. As I pulled in my driveway, it lost all gears. I shut it off, and restarted after 5 seconds, and it drove perfectly fine to my barn, so I don't know whats going on :suicide:

I started it up this morning and it made the noise for about a second, then stopped. It seemed to shift normally again, I'm going to get a trans filter and flush the cooler and see if it helps at all. In the mean time, I went ahead and bought another truck, an 89 Sierra ST. The body is pretty beat and it needs some work, but I think i'd rather bomb around in this one while I figure out what to do with this one.

I've also come up with a name for this truck, Frank. Short for Frankenstein. Considering this frame is most likely 2 different trucks, or just shortened at the least, and the cab, doors, bed, hood, and fenders are all from different trucks along with misc. interior parts also, seems fitting.
