ESOF?

I can get most diagrams.... I might have access to all data for later gmt400 trucks.

But I didn't say that.

Electronic Shift On the Fly. otherwise known as an electronic transfer case activator switch, otherwise known as the less-fun way of putting it in 4WD. Just curious if you would be able to share a pigtail diagram for it. If not, I can get my ass up and test some wires with my polarity tester tomorrow.

So... you do have access to all the data for later (96-99) GMT400's? Or ya don't? If you do, you are my new best friend. If you don't, you're still a pretty cool guy, I'm just not gonna send you a Christmas card.

Never heard of it referred to at ESOF - Just electronic or autotrac. FWIW even the floor shift cases were called autotrac "shift on the fly" - my 88 brochure has it in there!

Anyway.... I do have access to alldata at home - I have the entire thing setup on a server for any US vehicle. I also have online access for later GMT400 trucks (was from my 99 diesel K2500) which covers most 96-00 trucks. Basically I'm saying I have the info and for some situations (as this one) i'm willing to provide the info - particularly because this is a thread about the dash switches and info like that just isn't out there, easily found. I just don't want everyone asking me for diagrams just because it's easier for me to get it for them. I'm reasonable but I'm not doing all the work for the rest of the populous. Only way to learn this stuff is experience - which is how I did it.

Anyway, Here is the 2-speed selectable (NP243) diagrams.

In person I just call it electric and four-on-the-floor. I realize that's what a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts from the center hump is called, but I thought up the term "four-on-the-floor" long before that information was bestowed upon me. My friends know what I mean so they go along with it.

I understand. You have things to do, and you don't want to make it your job to locate and give any diagram to anyone who askes willy-nilly. Basic wiring diagrams are actually pretty easy to come by for free if you search the internet enough, but these (OEM switches, etc) are pretty much exclusive as far as I'm concerned. Plus, I'm sure you have to pay to have such a program.

Much appreciated. :worship: I promise I'll only come asking for OEM switch related diagrams. You'll probably hear a lot more from me when I finally achieve the holy grail of OEM switches... a fog or... *whispers* an auxilary switch. Thanks again!

Dave, the 2nd panel in from the right top row. What was that out of? I need that same exact panel and I'm calling a yard tomorrow. If you want to part with it let me know

The one with a blank top and two open slots on the bottom? That was from any pickup with passenger airbag. Not interested in selling it though, they should be easily found.

I completely forgot about the airbag switch! Thanks for the info, I'll give the yard a call tomorrow!

Not mine.... but I know this is going to go fast..........
You sir, know how to tease people. But for $40, I'd be getting the pigtail and... (now, I'm assuming here) an actual aux switch. Don't the aux switches have a retainer that holds them in the dash to the left of the steering column? Plus, don't they have an indicator light on the rocker? I feel like I'm looking at a cargo switch with an auxiliary switch cover on it.

Your partially correct.

The AUX and Cargo switches share the same body. You can put one in place of a cargo switch if you'd like. If they are mounted to the left of the column then they need the retainer.

There are two versions of the AUX switch, a lighted and non lighted. The non-lighted is the same pigtail, wiring and function as a cargo lamp switch, except it says "Aux Light".

Honestly, since these are rare anyway and discontinued... it's a good deal. All you need is a pigtail from a cargo switch and cut up a bezel retainer in place of the factory one.... you'd be good to go.
