Is it possible to swap a Tbi engine to carbureted, if so what needs to be changed?

Change the heads, tbi heads are the worst flowing heads made in the last 40 years. They will work but will hold back a lot of performance. Great for low end torque, what they are made for, but not much else

    Long tubes

I ended up getting Hooker 2806-1HKR coated headers from walmart online, lol. I couldnt find the uncoated versions anywhere, even called a place in Canada, they called all their sources. Its been discontinued, as well as the ceramic coated versions. Somehow, walmart still had a source. Wasnt...

    Long tubes

Its almost impossible to find anything now, lol. The 1 3/4 Hookers are discontinued, the coated versions are still around but cost over a grand. Hedmans are available but high too, more than the Hookers were. Around 600 for uncoated base headers. Im putting a 92 Vette LT1 in my 89 so the 1 3/4...

    1993 LT1 Swap Into 1988 K1500

Even the aluminum tbi brackets are nuts. I did find some brackets for 75 bucks though. Most are asking 200 or more. Glad I had the complete vette system

    1993 LT1 Swap Into 1988 K1500

The corvette accessories are a direct bolt in, no mods tp frame like the b body or f body style requires. Im not messing with injection, so its a much easier and quicker job. If I didnt have this lt1 already I wouldnt have attempted it, but since it was available and in good shape, why not, lol...

    1993 LT1 Swap Into 1988 K1500

Lt1 will physically bolt into the truck, same bolt pattern, same balance flywheel/flexplate, same motor mounts, etc. Im swapping in a 92 corvette lt1 into my 89, going carb swapped though. As far as transmissions, any 700r4/4l60/4l60e/4l80/3550 will work. Use your original transmission. Im...

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Im using a gen 1 intake, just have to redrill holes in intake. If you look at the picture it has a victor jr on it, swapped to carb before pulling engine. Real easy to do. I have an air gap intake Im going to use. Gmpp intake is 500 bucks, way too much for me. I have main and rod bearings...

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Its going in an 89 chevy 2wd truck, no race car. Its a heck of a lot better than the crappy tbi 350. Its just a fun project that isnt costing me a lot.

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

I figured the fittings would be tge same, but obviously the placement of the fitting is what would be the problem. I may just go to a parts store and look through their selection, or have one made. I have tge power steering cooler from the vette and will probably use that too

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Pump is on drivers side on bottonm, not far from where truck one is at, but it has the remote reservoir, and high pressure line goes in from top, truckk from lower back of pump

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

It wont work due to lt1 having a cam driven water pump.

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Ok, have an 89 C1500 I am swapping a 92 vette LT1 into. Have the vette accesories and brackets, all that jazz. Swapping to carb so no wiring issues. All I need to know is what to do with the high pressure steering hose, what works or have to have one made. Ive searched on here and other places...
