    Long tubes

Its almost impossible to find anything now, lol. The 1 3/4 Hookers are discontinued, the coated versions are still around but cost over a grand. Hedmans are available but high too, more than the Hookers were. Around 600 for uncoated base headers. Im putting a 92 Vette LT1 in my 89 so the 1 3/4...

    1993 LT1 Swap Into 1988 K1500

Even the aluminum tbi brackets are nuts. I did find some brackets for 75 bucks though. Most are asking 200 or more. Glad I had the complete vette system

    1993 LT1 Swap Into 1988 K1500

The corvette accessories are a direct bolt in, no mods tp frame like the b body or f body style requires. Im not messing with injection, so its a much easier and quicker job. If I didnt have this lt1 already I wouldnt have attempted it, but since it was available and in good shape, why not, lol...

    1993 LT1 Swap Into 1988 K1500

Lt1 will physically bolt into the truck, same bolt pattern, same balance flywheel/flexplate, same motor mounts, etc. Im swapping in a 92 corvette lt1 into my 89, going carb swapped though. As far as transmissions, any 700r4/4l60/4l60e/4l80/3550 will work. Use your original transmission. Im...

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Im using a gen 1 intake, just have to redrill holes in intake. If you look at the picture it has a victor jr on it, swapped to carb before pulling engine. Real easy to do. I have an air gap intake Im going to use. Gmpp intake is 500 bucks, way too much for me. I have main and rod bearings...

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Its going in an 89 chevy 2wd truck, no race car. Its a heck of a lot better than the crappy tbi 350. Its just a fun project that isnt costing me a lot.

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

I figured the fittings would be tge same, but obviously the placement of the fitting is what would be the problem. I may just go to a parts store and look through their selection, or have one made. I have tge power steering cooler from the vette and will probably use that too

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Pump is on drivers side on bottonm, not far from where truck one is at, but it has the remote reservoir, and high pressure line goes in from top, truckk from lower back of pump

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

It wont work due to lt1 having a cam driven water pump.

LT1 2nd gen version power steering question

Ok, have an 89 C1500 I am swapping a 92 vette LT1 into. Have the vette accesories and brackets, all that jazz. Swapping to carb so no wiring issues. All I need to know is what to do with the high pressure steering hose, what works or have to have one made. Ive searched on here and other places...

Should I be getting better gas mileage? Improvements?

Its a 93, it doesnt have the obd2 connector to plug into. Egr removed will not affect knock srnsors or fuel mileage, my 89 has it removed and it gets up to 22 mpg. None of the many cars that had the egr removed I had had worse fuel mileage.

    Rear end drop in replacment

Having the gears set up and rest redone at a shop will be around $600 with you supplying the parts. Thats what a local place qouted me, even with the rear out of the truck.

    Melling M55 or M55a?

Im using a high volume bog block pump in my 350 build. M77H I believe. You will need a special driveshaft and pickup tube, but are easy and cheap to get.

    The forgotten gem

I always hated running boards of any kind. Pain in the ass to work under the truck and are ugly to me at least.

Can your truck be seen from orbit?

Can kind of see my 89.

Decided to do somthing about the peeling clear coat on my 94 c1500

I repainted my whole 76 Landcruiser FJ40 with spray paint, gloss black. Turned put looking real nice, impressed myself on how nice it looked. No, wasnt factory or show quality nice but was shiny with no runs or big flaws. Did it in a pole barn too, lol.

    Tbi to Carburetor

Leknaw, what regulator did you use? Did the fuel lines thread in directly?

    Funny thing when leaving work

Popping could be caused by a miss firing cylinder that got water in it from a blown head gasket. It would be dumping unburned fuel from the dead non firing cylinders causing it to ignite in the exhaust.

    Tbi to Carburetor

Go with a Holley 4150 carb. Im doing the swap soon in my 89. TBI is not horrible but with the performance mods I doing, it wont work. Im going with big port, big valve aluminum heads, high lift longer duration cam, full length headers, etc. I prefer port injection on a fuel injected engine...

How to control torque convertor clutch with no computer, 89 C1500

Thanks, Ill probably go with the external control. I dont know what year the trans is since its a Jasper rebuild. It shifts and works very well. Been checking into the different external control options already.

How to control torque convertor clutch with no computer, 89 C1500

I wonder if I rig up the factory tps to the holley if that would work. May be too much work but free to check into.

How to control torque convertor clutch with no computer, 89 C1500

Crap, well, Ill be rid of my check engine light problem then. Once this trans dies, Im going T56 or NV4500 anyway. I hate automatics anyway. The one I have is a Jasper reman, was in there when I got it. Shifts well and all. Im adding a huge cooler to it and getting a deep pan for extra...
