Just a heads up. As I recall the injection pump on a 94 is a one year only part. It may not be compatible with your current computer.

Sheeeit. I was told to talk to Quadstar Tuning and give him the pump number so I'll do that the next time I'm out there.

Bought another interior piece from @Cokeman95 and that would be the overhead console on the right. That way I can yank the compass/temp module from a S10 Blazer and have that little luxury. I actually had one in my old 98 K1500 with the nice one that said the range, mpg, temp, compass, etc but that won't work unless I had a 97/98 with a 350, which I have neither!

A guy in Reno is also parting out a 2000 Escalade, I am slightly tempted to grab the door panels to keep them around but I'll probably pass on that for the meantime.

I now have an extra console like the one on the right. Came in the wrecked truck, appears to have survived. Both of my drivers already have one.

Still haven't got the escalade door panels yet.

But I do have some truck updates. I drove a F-Superduty tow truck today about 100 miles total, and my goodness that thing rides rough. So now I have a rough idea of what a 15k GVWR truck rides like (rough, better have good seats!).

Also, I am pretty sure that tow truck had 5.13s, and it wasn't very happy after 60mph and was revving ridiculously high in OD (rpm was 3500+ and truck was a 7.3 idi with a zf5) so that puts me in the next boat. I'd like to be able to do 70mph in the thing, but I don't want to buy gears for the rear axle in case I go a different route with the axle (4x4 swap), nor do I want to drop $3500 on a 4L80e gear vendors since I plan on running a different transmission in the long term. So I'm iffy there.

And, I found out that the 94 6.5 DB4 injection pump is a one year only pump, and to make it work with a 96 computer I need to either find a 96 IP, or get the computer flashed for $375 from Quadstar Tuning, which I'd be happy doing if the truck was keeping a 6.5 forever and ever, but I do not plan on that and throwing down $400 at that is just wasted money it seems to me.

So I've come to a halt with this thing, mainly because of the injection pump problem. I really don't know at this point. Do I drop the money on the 6.5 engine, do I just abandon that idea entirely, I'm lost.

What do you all think??

Can't give you any guidance on the 6.5td other than run away from it...

The Ford F450/F550 trucks ride like crap. The crazy thing is they will squat quicker than a GMT400 3500HD even when comparing equal models otherwise - F450 is a 15K/16K GVWR truck, just like a 3500HD.

Your HD could come with either 4.63's or 5.13's; is your glovebox sticker intact (and does it match the VIN on your cab) ?

I would do it once and do it right.
No point in spending hundreds on an engine you don't plan to keep installed.

Or just sell me the truck and don't worry about it anymore :D
