Ok, so I decided to make an attempt at painting the rims myself. The first one, I spent a good 45 minutes using tape to mask just on the edge of the yellow stripe on the rim, on both sides. It was kind of a pain since the rim is curved, the tape didn't want to stick well. After getting that all done, I painted a stripe, then cleared over it. After drying, I peeled up the tape, and only about half of the paint stuck to the other stripe, and it also bled through the tape in some spots. No biggie, it will come off with a little acetone. I took my chances and with my steady-ish hand, I used a little brush and went around two of the other rims by hand. I must say, it turned out better than I expected! You can see little flaws if you are a few inches away, but any more than 2 feet away, they look great! The stripes that came on them weren't perfect anyways, so that made me feel better. Two more and ill mount the tires up!

I think they look great. You've got more patience than I do.

Got my new engine, leaving it wrapped up till I get all the bolt ons. Also got 2 of my tires mounted, test fitted them on a buddys truck to see how they will sit, I think they will be perfect! Judging by how they sit on his truck, I think I will try about 4" drop in the front and 5 in the rear to make it sit close to even. Will probably have to trim or tuck the fender lips but i'm just glad my hours of tire/rim size research paid off!

Spent a little time and got the 496 on the stand, and just set the intake, carb and valve covers to see how it will look. I'm thinking i'm going with a black block, and leaving the heads natural color. I also got my 305 coffee table painted up, now just need a nice piece of glass, and maybe some lighting underneath!

That big block looks awesome!! But I'd paint the block black.

That 305 table is looking pretty cool too.

Here's a few better pics of the table and the new engine, oil pan and timing cover tightened down, still need to do valve covers and intake

Looks like you have a pretty sweet truck coming together. Is that a blueprint long block? Those wheels and tires are going to look great, what backspace did you get?

Yes it is balanced/blueprinted, came from a machine shop in California, from Ebay. They had very good reviews and a price that couldn't be beat even with shipping. Front tires are 15x8 with 4.75" backspacing, rears are 15x10 with 6" backspacing
