Edit: Just remembered I still need a console lid and rear cup holder for a 99/00 Escalade so I can get the console back together and sell it.

I've been looking for a rear cup holder everywhere. :( See several lids but they're usually trashed and missing the latch button. If you want one of those I'd be glad to pick you up one but it would definitely need reupholstered.

Hmmm. Last time I was at the local yard there was a lid there. Leather was in good shape but the plastic was all busted. Might be able to piece one together. I'll have to go back this week and pick it up if it's still there, I'll get up with you about that then if need be.

I believe I mentioned my barn doors leaking here and a few of you were concerned about rust. Turns out it wasn't the barn doors but instead a busted 3rd brake light, which I replaced as soon as I found out it was leaking. I pulled the rear carpet this week and was relieved to see no major rust. Just a few small spots of surface rust. Nothing a little sanding and paint can't fix.

However, the hardware is all shot. Anyone know where I can get new hardware on the cheap?

I doubt it. These are a nice metallic gold color. One of them is faded but the other looks fine and almost matches the gold on the bottom of my Suburban perfectly. I've seen a ton of faded red emblems and they usually fade to pink, then almost white.

I do have some Denali rear door panel trim if you're interested. I think it's shale but a quick coat of some SEM would take care of that and make them look like new.

Got my LED cab light inserts today. Thanks Dave!

They're nice and bright, but not obnoxiously so. Definitely brighter than the relatively new bulbs I had in my cab lights before. They also help update the look a bit without going to the NBS lights which in my opinion just look out of place on our trucks.

Woooooo LED cablights! I really like them, they have a different look to them for those of us who really notice those details.

And i'll eat my words, There are indeed two versions of the "HD" emblem, a Red and Gold. All our 3500HD flatbeds are work are GMCs and I've not seen enough to notice the difference between faded red and faded gold otherwise.

15646123 is for Chevy (gold) from 92-02
15646124 is for GMC (Red) from 92-02

It's the little things in life that make all the difference.

Now the real question: What was the deciding factor in which emblem a truck got?

I just get miserable F-150s to drive at work. The occasional F-550 dump truck is a nice change of pace. We've got one F-350 Powerstroke dump truck that I'm convinced has 3.42s or maybe even higher. It will NOT keep up with traffic.

I would do cab lights if I hadn't gotten the lighted visor. I want to do clear lenses and amber LEDs just to change it up and make it unique. Sadly I have maintenance issues that are more important than any "side" mods that I need to pay for.

Little things make a world of difference to the owner and anyone with a good eye. I'm a details kinda guy. I notice little subtle differences and that what makes a build truly awesome IMO.
