Valve cover search 7.4 Vortech 98-2000

I am looking for the valve covers to hold Coils on a 454 7.4

They came on the larger cab/chassis trucks.

COP was not used on pickups until the 8.1 engine was released.

The 8.1 Valve covers will only work on 8.1 heads. They are too shallow (nothing will fit) for the 454 valve train.

The covers I am looking for came on the L21 /LP4 designated 454 engines.

Ebay has nothing...the only good thing is I know they exist.

Most of these larger trucks had C A T engines and not the 454

I was able to spot a Photo of a 99 larger dump truck with COP valve covers on a 454...so I know they exist

Yes they do exist. 10+ years ago, they'd show up on ebay, but I haven't seen any for quite sometime. I suspect thats because many of those trucks have already been parted/scrapped.

I have assumed this could be a problem..they exist probably in some bone yards covered up

here is an option: you could try car-part.com & see if anyone in your area has a core engine available. swap the covers & then resell the core. might be a hassle, but as you know, they're not readily available.

Should be able to still get L21 valve covers from GM

12554351 & 12554352

Double check my numbers but believe those are the right ones
