Yeah, it was definitely more expensive than some comparable Chevys we looked at at the time. It's decked out too, every available option for that year as far as I can tell. According to Compnine's VIN lookup it's the only one produced in '97 with that exact combo of options and colors. Which is funny to me because so is my red truck, but my dad custom ordered that one. The Suburban came off a lot.

I do not. I thought that was a Denali/Escalade only thing?

I could be wrong but it was an option for chevy. Read it in a brochure. I know my school has a suburban and that one had heater mirrors.. couldn't touch it though cause it was donated to them back in the day... such a waste of a gmt400....

'98+ only then maybe? I remember having this conversation with someone else a long time ago and it seems like we came to the conclusion that it wasn't an available option for my 'burb. I don't remember exactly why though.

My 99 burb has heated and the auto dimming function. Took forever to find a replacement and yet agian it needs to be replaced. Not sure what was standard vs option.

I hear you. I thought of owning a diesel but felt like there just as expensive in maintenance. Way I see it we had our suburban for 23yrs. Love it and want to make it better in time. But I would like to own 1 new vehicle in my lifetime. The new vehicles seem cool and powerful and pretty but Im one of the few that doesn't care for all the tech. You cant justify there prices. I dont get the same excitment with those like i do mine. Lol. Maybe I'm just hardheaded.

Honestly most people tell me they are more to maintain which can be true but i don’t wanna turn my vehicle into a drag truck making crazy numbers so I don’t think it’d be too bad to maintain.

Idk I think my truck was originally sold in Napa County and it doesn't get cold. Then agian my burb has alot of other options so mayb it was ordered like that.
