Just put some aunt jemima in there and be done with it. Not only does it lubricate but but smells great.
Yep. Lite in the winter months and "butter rich" in the summer. [emoji1]Do you use the lite version due to the low temps where you are?

Unless an engine has a huge oil leak or burns a lot of oil, every automotive engine should be running synthetic oil. Think of engine oil like you would gasoline.
Gas - Miles per gallon
Oil - Miles per quart
Even if you are not a fan of synthetic oil you will agree that synthetic oil will last 2x-3x longer than conventional oil. How does that apply to our CSB?
Oil changes ~5 quarts
Conventional oil - $2.54q (Walmart SuperTech)
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pennzoil-SuperTech-5W30-Motor-Oil-5-Quart/16474403
Snythetic Oil - $3.49q (Walmart SuperTech)
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Super-Tech-Full-Synthetic-5W30-Motor-Oil-5-qt/17133942
Oil Filter of choice - $10.
Normal oil consumption for a CSB on conventional oil over 3,000 miles is ~ 1qt. So for one oil change interval on conventional oil:
$15.24 - 6qt Oil
$10 - Oil Filter
$25.24
$25.24 / 3000 miles = $.0084 per mile
Normal oil consumption for a CSB on synthetic oil over 5,000 miles is < 1qt.
$20.94 - 6qt Oil
$10 - Filter
$30.94
$30.94 / 5000 miles = $.0062 per mile
$.0084 x 100,000 miles = $840
$.0062 x 100,000 miles = $620
Over the course of 100,000 miles most people would save ~$220 running synthetic oil over conventional oil. And I think the oil change intervals are conservative. On conventional oil, some people might try to go 4,000 - 5,000 miles between oil changes. On synthetic oil, some people go 8,000 - 15,000 miles between oil changes.
So the real question is, how can anyone afford not to run synthetic oil?
So ive decided to go with rotella t6 5w40. 155k miles, it should help rather than hurt lmao.
T5 is a synthetic blend IIRC. If you're sticking with 30 weight, Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil1 would be a better oil IMO.
