Why is there no airbag on the passenger's side, was that an option in the pickups in 1998?

It's a 1-ton. Mine doesn't have air bags either. I don't think they were even optional, at that point.

It's a weird deal, my K2500 'burb has the bag, but the pickups didn't get them.
Extended cab 2500/3500 pickups didn't get the 3rd door either.

3500s should have no air bags 8600lb gvwr 2500s should have no air bags I have no idea why 2500 suburbans have them.

Huh, learn something new every day. I had to go out and look after you said this. Sure enough, just a big horn button that looks like an airbag but no air bag label on it.
