not worth it :imo: just find one for 4wd, it will be easier...

its not hyst the output shaft thats different, its also that the VSS gear in in the tail shaft housing on a 2wd while its in the trasnfer case of a 4wd, gotta find a 4wd, you can swap from 2 piece bell housing to 1 piece though, i just did that to my 1997 k1500

The whole tailshaft of the Trans is different since they use a married t-case.

Can you swap output shafts in any trans? From 2x4 to a 4x4

another thing is im assuming that your asking about swapping trannys becasue your current one isnt working, and in theory if you could just replace the output saft and it would work, well in order to replace the output shaft, you have to tear into the transmission so far that it would be easier to just rebuild it, rebuilding them is actually not difficult at all
