Motor swap from a 1988 5.7 gmc to a 1995 5.7 gmc Vandura 2500 motor

I am doing a Motor swap from a 1988 5.7 gmc 1500 to a 1995 5.7 gmc Vandura 2500 motor. i am new to this somewhat. but the questions i have is what will i need to do for vandura motor to go into the 1988 gmc 1500. any help would be awesome. thank you for your time and i also love this site.

If you have both complete engine's you should have everything you need. As far as I know only silly thing's are different, like the oil fill tube, and I actually prefer the van one, because it's tall and easier to reach lol.

The previouslymentioned oil fill tube, dip stick and tube, thermostat housing and exhaust manifolds are different but the basic long block is the same from 87-95.

so ill have to change the exhaust manifolds thermo housing i would like to keep the long one for the oil in it just less stuff to do. but my gut say ill have to do it some way or another lol.the intake is all good do i have to swap that? also would i be able to put my tbi on the intake of the 95? i was just going to sawp everything from the old to the newer one. but anything to save me some body pain is all good with me lol. you two are very awesome for helping me out with the info. i am a computer geeek as well as a car guy lol if you need any help with a computer please lt me know. and once againg thank you all very much

awesome thank you very much i used your trick just not to long ago with the bell housing bolt and i got to say thank you lol. i also have oil build up in the 95 intake and done know how it got there cause to valve covers are leak free ect.

I'll have to take a picture of it. It's been too hot to work on the truck. But I did get on of the new motor but not in detail but once I get the old one out tonight I'll take pictures
