My 94 Silverado 5.7 rcsb was surging after 50 Mph and had a slight intermittent miss while idling. The two things turned out not to be connected.
Miss while idling was a vacuum leak from the throttle body gasket
Miss over 50 was the torque converter not engaging into the lock up.
If you experience this try putting your foot slightly on the gas and see if the surging stops that will tell you it's the converter.
