I want to say the early trucks are metal and the later ones are plastic. Im not sure if the TBI pump assembly will fit in the later tank

X2, I remember changing my pump in my '91 but can't remember whether it was plastic or metal, I want to say metal but can't say for sure.

another tip is seal all glue will fix gas tank leaks. I've done it several times and never had it leak afterwards even years later. You just find the hole, make sure it's low enough to not leak, sand it down to clean it, apply a thin layer, wait a bit and repeat, over and over as the directions say, give it about 12-24 hours and put the gas back in it and it's good to go.
