'92 5.7 starts, then stalls when in gear...

If it's a six lug 2500 it still has a 700 in it. If it's an 8 lug, it has a 4l80E, and the wiring for lockup on that is all internal in the pan.

Everything is in the pan then, the harness is not uncommon to go out on them, you'll have to drop the pan. And if I dropped my pan, I'd replace the harness and solenoids no matter what, just because who wants to drop their pan a hundred times?

Well in other news...I started the truck up for a friend and while it was in park, I gradually moved the throttle and it stumbled like crazy and smelled really rich. It smoothed out once it got to higher rpms but it smelled really rich. ??????????????????????? And this is in park so the trans shouldn't have anything to do with it correct?

FIXED!!!!!!!! Turns out the distributor was really crappy. The bushings were toast. That and a new set of wires and it's running good. Thanks everyone!
