Hello my fellow truck owners, I'm sorta out ideas. I have a 1992 k1500 silverado truck. It has 4wd. It's the type of 4wd with the lever/shifter on the floor. (The engagement process is pull the lever to 4wd, then the front actuator engages the front dif and the 4wd light comes on. I say this so youall dont think is a knob or button type.)
The problem is when the transfer case is disengaged and truck is in 2wd, the actuator in the front pumpkin trys to shift on it own randomly and the 4wd light lights. This has also happened when doing 60mph after hitting a pothole. I changed the switch on the back in transfer case and I changed the front actuator. I'm not really sure what else it would be. I wanted to get some other ppls thoughts.

Thanks !
Kyle

Perhaps a moderator will move this thread out of ENGINES and into Axles + Brakes.

Is this a thermal actuator, or the newer motorized kind?
