I was wondering if there is anything available to hold the torque converter locked. The problem is when towing through the hills, going downhill it unlocks, then I hit the next hill it locks again halfway up. I am worried that over time I'm going to wear the lockup clutch. Thanks

You need to find a controller that does 96+ 4l80e transmissions. Post 96 the lockup signal is a PWM signal. Prior to that it was just 12v.

If you hook up a 12v switch method to a 00 4l80e you're a going to burn it out.

I would assume the torque lock listed is for a 96+ but it does not specify.

The other thing you can do is have the transmission tables altered in the calibration. That's what I do with my 98...

Torq loc on the bd site. Looks like they list one for 93-2000 so it must be able to do both signals or the one that is required for your year.

Install manuals are also there.

While I am by no means an expert, it does look like it works with at least up to 2000 4L80E transmissions from the manual - http://www.dieselperformance.com/productManual/1030395_Torqloc1.pdf
