I have a nv3500 out of a 97 gmc jimmy 4.3 4x4, I'm planning on swapping it into my 98 k1500 5.7, are the Trans the same length? They're both electronic shift transfer cases, do they have the same connectors on them? Will my original driveshafts work? Will it run without having the ecm tuned?

They are not the same length, although they are close. Going the other way in an S10 allowed me to keep the stock crossmember, but I did have to shorten the driveshaft. Your ECU will probably freak out looking for a TCM that isn't there any longer. Unless the Vortec integrates it, I'm not sure on that.
