honestly for those of us who don't have a personal or family owned junkyard to dig through, just buy the gears.

Buy the tools to set them up, mostly a dial indicator is about it. You can have them pressed on and off or get you a press or do it without one I've done it. New gears are like $150-200 a set, rearends cost more then that around here.

Axle assemblies are usually only a couple hundred bucks. You don't need a press, just a dial indicator, micrometer, torque wrenches(large and small) and a socket set. Pick up some gear paint and get started.
