my 'Burb has a pro-comp 6" lift and i have been thinking of going to 255-85-16 tires on stock 8 bolt gm ralley style rims. I don't off road, i need to get to work to plow snow. I don't plow with the Suburban. Any thoughts? I have some 8" wide rims that I could use as well, would they be better?

I have ran 255/85/16s on factory 6.5" wheels they fit perfect! Those are basically a 33x10.5 tire. They are a perfect snow tire size for a lifted truck IMO.

I run 255/70's on mine, they aint too skinny.

They are also cheaper then 285/75's and that's around the same size.

IMO a body lift and 33's is pushing it, so to me a 4 inch or 6 inch you need 35's. but it works and gives you tons of room.

Hey Guys thanks for the advice, here are some pics of the 'Burb with diff wheel/tire combos. Only one would attach. This is as purchased, 35 12.50 16.5 tires, stuck out way too far and rubbed, The pic in my signature is with 265 75 16 on 8" rims.
